Robert Ecks is a collection of atoms based out of Philadelphia. In MetroPhilly he’s been described as a “non linear humorist.”

In 2012 Robert performed at the WDVE Comedy Festival and placed 3rd in the Gilda’s Club of Western Pennsylvania’s Laughing in the Face of Cancer. Ecks was named one of 2013’s “Comics to Watch” by the blog It’s Always Funny In Philadelphia and in 2014 named the “Comedy Act of the Year” by Philebrity.com.

Robert has been a featured performer at numerous festivals including Atlanta’s Black Box Comedy Festival(2014), NYC’s Devil’s Cup(2014), the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival(2014), the Black Friday Comedy Marathon(2014), Five Dollar Comedy Week(2014,15,16), and the Burning Bridges Festival (2016). Ecks is a writer and producer of the live reality show The Plant, first seen as a part of the inaugural Five Dollar Comedy Week festival from Good Good Comedy and later in its much anticipated sequel The Plant: Gauntlet Of Cups.

Robert wrote and directed the short film “Daniel” featured as a part of the 2015 Philadelphia FringeArts Festival show Night Trolley. In his “Year In Review” for PhillySketchfest.com Daniel Corkery notes, “The direction is really something else.” Nice.

Robert opened for Emo Phillips at PhilaMOCA. It was pretty cool.

Currently Robert is the host, writer, and producer of the monthly late night call-in advice show Sex with Ecks at Good Good Comedy Theatre. Ecks is one of the sixteen little sweeties in the sketch collective Darlings, now airing it’s second season at the Good Good Comedy Theatre.

WP Johnson writes of Robert, “he has one of the most unusual voices in comedy,” which is hopefully a compliment.

Unfortunately Johnson also writes that Robert “is slow and awkward and strange.”
